About Michelle Stevens
Growing up as a military brat which has its pluses and minuses.  I was lucky to see different places, but I also wasn’t able to establish longtime friendships.  If we were transferred during the summer time it would take some time before establishing friendships.  So during these me, myself and I timeframes, I did a lot of drawing and coloring.  I would think outside the box, not just color Minney Mouse’s dress red; instead, I would add dots, stripes, or other types of designs or colors.  I would create abstract characters and shapes and designs to paper. I took art classes throughout high school and was the only student invited to attend Ft. Lauderdale Art Institute.Â
I've used different mediums such as colored pencils, drawings watercolors, pastels, and started working with acrylic fluid art in June 2018, and finally, in October of 2018, I started working with acrylic paints.  After much trial and error, I definitely have found my niche.  I enjoy adding a unique perspective to my work in order to make each piece memorable and inspirational. I like to mix realism with abstract. I also like to mix time periods, for example, make Elizabeth Taylor or Audrey Hepburn steampunk with some abstract surroundings.  Some of my inspirations are Christian Lassen, Salvador Dali, Leonardo DaVinci, and Georgia O’Keeffe.Â
I started sharing my work on at local events/festivals and coffee shops. Â Michelle Stevens Art Inspirations can be found on Facebook, Instagram, Etsy, and will be participating in the following Events in 2019: Ogden Winter Market, Empowerment You Expo, Pride Festival, and Ogden Fall Market.
